PASTRY CHEF - £18K -

We are a Stunning 3 star Country House Hotel who requires a Chef with a flair for pastry, drive and a true passion for good food.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative Pastry Chef or strong Chef de Partie to join the team at Ravenwood Hall Hotel this is a well appointed Country House Hotel with a 2 Rosette Restaurant near Bury St. Edmunds. As Pastry Chef/Chef de Partie you will be using only the finest fresh local ingredients to the highest standards and you will have the opportunity to work with a very talented and creative Head Chef and his team.

Ideally the candidate will have recent experience at recognized establishments (preferably at least 1 - 2 Rosette level) as Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie and possess good organization / communication skills and have the desire and determination to climb the career ladder.

The Hotel takes great pride in producing not only an award-winning restaurant menu but producing the same quality of food throughout the operation including a finely cooked breakfast and memorable Weddings and Functions.

The Restaurant has 2 AA Rosettes for its fine food and the team is working towards achieving 3 rosettes, so enthusiasm and input for new menus is imperitive.The restaurant is a popular venue to celebrate special occasions, with the garden room, bar and dining in the superb grounds totaling over 100 covers.

The Hotel has a busy wedding and function trade which can cater for up to 130 guests, and up to 230 in the evening for buffets.

Summary Role Criteria

1. The ideal Pastry Chef will have previous 3or 4 star hotel experience or worked within quality 1-2AA Rosette restaurants
2. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for assisting in maintaining high levels of hygiene and health and safety
3. The Pastry Chef will be reporting directly into the Head Chef
4. Pastry Chef must be passionate and the ability to cope under pressure
5. The successful Pastry Chef will have at least 2 years experience at chef de Partie / demi Chef de Partie level within a similar operation

Role Description:
To cover reception late afternoon and evening taking telephone calls for bookings ,help behind the bar and be prepared to aid front of house when necessary We are looking for a smart, proactive forward thinking person who will perform consistently in line with the company’s high standards.  

Required Experience:
Reception, bar person or customer service experience would be advantageous but full training will be given and mature applicants are very welcome
