About Us

Ravenwood Hall Hotel and Restaurant is a magnificent privately owned 14 bedroom country house hotel with an excellent reputation for fine dining and relaxing accommodation in a historic and cosy atmosphere. We are one of the most established hotels in the area especially renowned as wedding venue. Situated just 3 miles from the market town of Bury St Edmunds, the Hall is a popular venue for business, leisure breaks and diners and this is our 24th year of trading.
Employer Profile
The hotel is part of a small but expanding privately owned group of two hotels both in Suffolk .The owner has 30 years of experience of experience and has a very hands on approach to his businesses. The group consists of the 3 star Tudor, country house hotel with a two rosette award for dining in Bury St Edmunds and The 10 bedroom, 3 star Georgian Hotel in Long Melford.

Head Chef
What we want:
We are looking for a highly skilled motivational Head Chef who is looking to achieve his 3rd rosette, we are striving to achieve 3 rosettes in the fine dining restaurant and maintain the strong 2 rosettes we have for the informal garden room. An emphasis on the skilful use of seasonal & local produce and an understanding of the successful repeat business we have built over the years is essential for this thriving and growing company.
Role Description:
As Head Chef your involvement and input is critical so duties, skills and attributes will include: Outstanding passion for food with excellent attention to detail and consistency to maintain an every time quality product.Develop, create and implement fresh ideas using the wealth of quality local sourced produce .To communicate well and strike up a good working relationship with your new team whilst inspiring others to develop and succeed. Part of your duties will include financial control of the kitchen so full knowledge of stock control, purchasing and menu planning is imperative. The ideal candidate will be organised, an excellent communicator and a hands on chef with exceptional attention to detail with the passion to go that extra mile.
Required Experience
Have previous experience as a Head Chef and have previous strong experience of 2 rosettes at a senior level. Mature applicants are also welcome to apply.

Assistant Duty Manager
What we want:
We are seeking an experienced assistant duty manager to join our professional and successful team. This position offers the very real chance to progress to a more senior role once you have proven yourself. An enthusiastic and highly motivated person with the ability to be a part of our dedicated team and promote our business forward by being totally customer focused.
Role Description:
You will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the restaurant/bar and ensure good liaison with the kitchen. The ideal candidate will need the necessary experience and knowledge to control a busy service in this food orientated hotel. A knowledge of stock control would be an advantage but not essential.
Required Experience
At least two years experience in a similar style hotel and knowledge of a two-rosette restaurant will be useful. Mature applicants are also welcome to apply.

Senior Chef de Partie
What we want
We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie who feels they are ready to develop and thrive within a successful 2 rosette restaurant. They must be ambitious with a flair for food as this company are moving forward and are totally food focused. We have two rosettes and are striving to reach our goal of three with you help.
Role Description
You will be supporting our head chef and sous chef with the day to day running of the kitchen and working together as a team.
Required Experience
At least two years experience in a quality establishment, dealing with fresh produce. And a knowledge of a two-rosette restaurant

Chef de Partie
What we want
Are you young, enthusiastic, with a passion to learn about fantastic food? As this company are moving forward and are totally food focused with established clientele and a superb reputation what better place to start.
Role Description
Our head chef and sous chef will give you additional training (if necessary) with the day to day running of the kitchen and expect you to work together as a team. Fresh local produce is used to create innovative menus to an exceptional standard so your passion and hard work is fulfilled and you will be proud to be part of such a team.
